Fill stien half full with Bass.Next pour Guiness over a spoon slowly until glass is full.If done correctly the Guiness will stay on top and the Bass on bottom hence the name Black & Tan.

Your recipe is delicious.
Here is a recipe for you...........
Buy two soccer tickets to a Manchester United Soccer game against Chelsea.
At halftime enjoy a Melton Mowbray Pork Pie.
After the game is over drive home and fix yourself a Black and Tan.
Put your feet up and watch the other soccer highlights on TV.
What else can be said. You have just enjoyed the best of the UK.
This is a great drink

Try substituting Harp instead of the bass to make a mean Black and Tan.

Guiness Stout w/ Harp Lager = "Half & Half"
Irish favourite because it contains all Irish beer,no English Bass Ale.
Best not to mix politics w/ beer.
Black & Tan or Half & Half, they're both great.

In Ireland a Black and Tan is made from a half pint of Smithwick's topped off with Guinness.
Also,Guinness and Harp is sometimes (usually?) called a Half and Half.
An excellent variant of these is a drink called a Special in Ireland.Basically,a pint of Smithwick's with a Guiness head.
